SUSTAINABILITY

The goal in all of Heartlands coffee sourcing is to find quality beans and pay a fair price that ensures long term sustainability for the farmer, and guarantees availability of quality coffees for their customers.

Many of the coffees sourced are from Estate or single origin coffee farms, most of which have a long family history of coffee farming with well established coffee plantations and processing facilities.

Conwy Mussels

Landed just 100 yards from our back door Conwy mussels are famed for being the best. Farmed locally for over 200 years in a simple, traditional way of mussel gathering. Conwy’s mussel men still hand-rake wild mussels from small wooden boats – a practice passed down through three generations.

The Conwy mussel industry has been around for a long time. In fact, not so many years ago over 90 fishermen worked on the Conwy River fishing for mussels.

Unlike modern dredging, which can damage the fish, the method in Conwy for gathering is completely natural, ensuring mussels are bigger, tastier and often fresher than their farmed competitors. Using a twenty foot pitch pine rake, the musselmen dig until their boats are full. The freshly gathered mussels are washed on arrival at the process plant on the Quay front where they are purified for 48 hours to remove any bacteria or germs. One more wash in cold, fresh water before only the very best mussels are handpicked, weighed and bagged, where we collect them ready to be preapred for your plate.

Founded by the Marshall family in 2015, Snowdonia Distillery was North Wales's first copper micro-distillery a hiatus of nearly 100 years. Based only 4km away from us Snowdonia Distillery uses the finest hand foraged botanicals from Snowdonia to produce their award winning range of gins. Amazing on their own we also incorporate them into our finest premium cocktails

Snowdon Craft Beer

An independently owned brewery based just outside the popular seaside town of Llandudno on the North Wales coast. We’re inspired by what makes Wales such a popular place to visit – the miles of pristine beaches, immense mountains and towering castles, not to mention the fine food, drink and people!

Our expert brewers have honed our recipes and perfected our pour so that every last drop is as good as the first. A true taste of Wales, our hand-crafted beers are made locally with quenching water from Snowdonia’s deep mountain reservoirs.

Henllan Bakery

Having opened the first bakery in 1908, it could be said that the Moore family know a thing or two about baking. Henllan Bakery is still situated on the same site in Denbigh it was in 1975, but has been greatly extended. Supplying our fresh bread and baked goods daily for our range of afternoon teas.
